Video conference setups are useful for both large corporations and small business organizations to communicate in real time.
The type of software both hard and soft dictates the types of video conference setups that can be done and the better the incorporated technology, the better the conference. There are numerous types of video conference equipment including web cams, laptops, and headsets with microphones, USB ports and boom microphones.
Software For Video Conference Setups
For the software department there is the vital internet access and conferencing software either MSN Messenger or NetMarketing. Microsoft Passport gives access to directory services that allow you to communicate with others an essential for the video conference set up. There are several avenues on how to set up for a video conference and all these are dictated by the need of the client or company and the hardware and software that is available.
To begin with there must be a web cam in any of the video conference setups. Once the web cam is in place then the driver is installed and the camera is connected to the USB port in order to activate. This is the simplest way to begin a video conference and is the homemade computer based option. It may be easy to handle and set up but it only works properly on a one on one basis. It is not clear but for those interested in cost cutting this is the way to go.
Desktop video conference setups are the next level from the computer based system and is a good option for those in a group setting. The quality of the feed is greatly improved with the additional software that has been installed.
Last but not least there is the studio based system available for large organizations and universities. Although it is an expensive type of video conference the quality of the feed is extremely high and a fully equipped room is needed. The room for the video conference should have a T1 speed line for video equipment connection, 2nd internet connection; visual outlets and sufficient 110 VAC power capacity. This room should have enough room for over head cameras, slide and document viewers and various control systems hat make the conference that much more effective.
The video conferencing set up cannot be complete without the inclusion of an etiquette list that includes looking directly at the camera and pausing before responding. It would be pointless to have state of the art video conference setups and let yourself and the other participants down moving around or speaking loudly.
