Features of Gravity Conveyors


You can make movement of merchandise to various points to be easier by using gravity conveyors. Their primary use is in the movement of merchandise to various parts of the material supply chain.

There are various gravity conveyor styles and they have different features. The gravity conveyors are frames made of metal that have wheels or rollers. They are used to transmit products from a location to the subsequent one on a route that is slanted.

Gravity conveyors get used in the transportation of products on push line that is level or gravity pitched flow. When they are used, there is no need to use lifting boxes from a location then load them on a hand truck or cart then wheel them to their destined location. Gravity conveyors save the workers from using their energy to move stock to various points.

How Gravity Conveyors Work

An angled rack holds the boxes. The wheel then rolls when a box sliders across. The box is then sent downwards to the destination that is moving to. The gravity roller conveyor carries the box to its destination; the momentum is stopped by an object that is stationery or landing area that has no rollers. The object might stay at the storage or it might be moved to another point. This depends on what should be done to the object.

Size

Gravity conveyors have an advantage in that it is possible to join sections together and increase the length of roller track. If a rack has a length of seven feet it can connect a chute to the shelf. If there is no more space for the additional boxes, another six foot track will be attached on the empty part gravity conveyors. This conveyor’s end can then be set for other shelf where the merchandise might land. Racks should be cut to the proper length in order to fit the within the plan that has been laid out.

Mobile Storage

There are times when there is no room that is left for the merchandise landing in storage. The boxes being conveyed by gravity conveyor rollers might be too many. The used gravity conveyor has no enough space. Instead of backing one box after the other, gravity conveyors may be reconnected then aligned in a way that they can run in endless loop. They may stay on the gravity conveyors until the time for their shipping, picking or other way of relocating them.
